Hepatitis B

Overview

Apart from alcohol, viral hepatitis B and C are among the main causes of chronic liver disease. Hepatitis is the medical term for inflammation of the liver.

According to World Health Organization (WHO) estimates, 300 to 420 million people worldwide have chronic hepatitis B infection and approximately one million people die every year as a result of this disease.
