Hepatitis B

Living with hepatitis B

People infected with chronic hepatitis B do not require a special diet as long as their liver function is not impaired.

People with impairment of their liver function may need to limit their protein (meat and dairy products) and salt intake. Your doctor should discuss this with you, with the support of a dietitian as appropriate.

It is important for you to avoid alcohol.
