WHO’s Prevention and Control of Viral Hepatitis Infection: Framework for Global Action describes the four areas of work to prevent, treat and save the lives of people infected with hepatitis through targeted regional and country-specific strategies. These strategies will help combat the disease that, despite affecting 500 million people worldwide, remains largely unknown, undiagnosed and untreated. The four strategic axis are the following:
Axis 1: Raising awareness, promoting partnerships, and mobilizing resources
Axis 2: Evidence-based policy and data for action
Axis 3: Prevention of transmission
Axis 4: Screening, care and treatment
